Appanna who matriculated from Hilton College and has an Honors degree in Business Information Systems, has been involved in the Information Technology sector over the last 16 years. His experience has been with the United Nations, private sector companies and government entities. Appanna has experience in both the hardware and software aspects of IT. His experience includes design and implementation of IT infrastructure, project management and detailed implementation of projects for clients such as the United Nations, European Commission, Overseas Development Assistance Database in Nicaragua, Tata Africa, Banc ABC and Brightrock. These projects cross a number of verticals, including the Financial, Hospitality, Automotive and Industrial sectors. Appanna is Microsoft certified (MCSE), VMWare certified (VCP), Avaya certified (ACIS) and Veeam certified (VMCE).

Kate is presently a Franchise Director at Discovery Holdings. Kate started as a Candidate Attorney with Deneys Reitz. She then became a Legal Advisor with Old Mutual in 2003 and moved on to Momentum as a Business Development Manager, then Regional Manager and finally General Manager (Executive Management). In 2010, she was appointed as the Franchise Director at Discovery. Professionally she has been recognized as an emerging leader and businesswomen. In 2015 she was awarded Franchise Director of the Year at Discovery. In 2014 she was nominated for Africa’s Most Influential Woman in Business and Government. In 2013 she was awarded the Oliver Empowerment Young Achiever Award. In 2012 she was selected as the Top 200 South Africans by the Mail and Guardian. She was also selected as the one of the 20 on the Power list by Woman and Home for 2012. She won the Rising Star award for the finance category. In 2011, she won Top Business Women of the Year and also Top Women Executive for South Africa. She has also published a book titled “IINC. Be the CEO of your brand.
